Happy New Year beautiful people! I’m baaaaaaccckkkk…Better late than never. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. I certainly didn’t as I was sick with a flu and food poisoning…boo hoo : ( Anyways I am back to good old healthy self now and can’t wait to delve right back in to the world of blogging. I don’t really do new year’s resolutions but this year I’m sticking to the motto…’Live each new day as a second chance!’.

For my first outfit post for 2014 I thought I would keep warm and cosy with one of my many faux fur coats. When it comes to faux fur (always faux, never real) I’m obsessed and forever will be. I don’t know what it is, maybe because it has a glam chic feel to any outfit and I just feel gone with the wind F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. It’s been getting crazy cold lately and to make it worse getting wind slapped across the face. Nothing worse than a cold and windy combo. I wore my coat over a leather mini skirt and embellished polo neck jumper. Both are vintage pieces from the East End Thrift Store which I got in their £1 sale a couple of weeks back. Yup just £1.

I only hope for bigger and better opportunities this year for myself and everyone else. Excited to see where my blog journey will take me.

New Look Chunky Loafers –  £15

Finally I have grabbed a pair of these chunky loafers after searching high and low. I’m sure these are not to everyone’s taste but I’m becoming a great fan of the ugly pretty shoe at the moment and I guess I’m one for something different. I remember first seeing these babies on the New Look site at the wonderful price of £11 in white. I thought let me just wait till pay day, I’m sure they will still be there. Well boy I was so wrong and stupid for not grabbing them when I had the chance. Like a stalker I kept checking 10 times a day refreshing the page but nope nothing. I think I checked about 5 stores and none had my size. I had to accept the fact that I wasn’t getting the white ones : ( I was in two minds of getting the black ones which were still at the full price of £24.99. My heart didn’t want to commit in buying at that price knowing I could of paid half that (the bargainista in me). But then one day I spotted them with £10 off. I was not going to make the same mistake again…oh but wait of course my size wasn’t available. I vary between a size 3 and 4 but when it comes to a size 5 they are just HUGE on me. And that’s the size I kept seeing. I decided to try one more store for the black ones. I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw a size 3 waiting for me. Happy days.

And for £15…thank you New Look!

This week my wishlist is all about loafers. A pair of comfortable flats that are a must have all year round and I have been drawn to the adrogynous charm. These are ultimately the shoe of the season and can be easily styled with anything. The detailing of the fringe and gold chains balances the boy/girl mix. There was a time when New Look would be the last place for me to buy shoes from because I would never find that ‘special’ pair and was always disapointed with the style and quality. So ironically, it was a coincidence that all three on my list are from New Look (via ASOS) which wasn’t deliberate I swear. But more recently I have to say that I have been impressed and I will be finding my little self over there a lot more. The first pair have a more feminine armour offering a slim shaped heel. Whereas the last two have chunky heels providing a more tomboyish touch which may not be to everyone’s taste. Over the last few weeks I have had a thing for the ugly but nice shoes. And I always vowed to myself (and a pact with my sisters) that I would never wear a pair of white shoes. But there is just something about the white chunky tassel loafers that have just won my heart. I think I will see you babies on Payday…a little retail therapy wont hurt right?

And all for under £20…Result! You know I’m one for a bargain.
